We know what it's like to run an Early Years setting
Because we've done it — the good days, the hard days, and the days when you just need someone who gets it.
Why we created Alongside
We created Alongside because we know what it feels like to run Early Years settings, and wished there was someone approachable to ask when things got difficult.
We're not here to tell you everything you're doing wrong. We're here to help you work out what to do next — practically, calmly, and without judgement.
We're not trying to attract only settings that want to become "outstanding". We also want to hear from the manager who's had a terrible week, is worried about Ofsted, can't get a member of staff to change their practice, is struggling to support a child, or has opened an EHCP form and doesn't know where to begin.
"Something isn't working. You're not sure what to do next. Talk to us."

What matters to us
These are the principles behind every conversation, resource and visit.
Support that feels accessible
A welcoming place where owners, managers and practitioners feel comfortable asking for help — particularly when things aren't going well.
Practical solutions, not theory
We turn legislation, guidance and professional advice into clear, manageable actions you can actually implement.
Confidence, not dependency
We work alongside settings so managers and practitioners understand why changes are needed and feel confident making decisions themselves.
Children first, paperwork second
Policies and action plans should support better practice for children — not just exist to demonstrate compliance.
Confident, supported teams
Practical help with supervision, performance and difficult conversations — referring to specialist HR or legal advice where needed.
Help at every level
From a low-cost resource to a short conversation, SEND support, staff training or more intensive consultancy.
